How does a Holistic Healing stay at Toyam begin?
Check-in is at 1:00 pm, and Swasthya Rakshana, our Holistic Healing programme, begins with a consultation with our on-site wellness physician and a body composition assessment. The physician goes through your goals, health history and medicines, then sets your therapy schedule for the 3, 7 or 14 nights: Basti treatments with front and back whole-body massage, Nasya, Janubasti, Katibasti or Manyaabasti, Shirodhara and Dhoopana. That conversation also settles your meals at Sattva Restaurant, herbal detox elixirs and the yoga, meditation and pranayama; vitals are monitored from day one.
Is Swasthya Rakshana suitable if I have a health concern?
Yes, the programme is designed for guests living with chronic ailments and for those dealing with depression, anxiety or post-traumatic disorders, as well as those seeking positive mental health and spiritual growth. Our wellness physician assesses your condition and current medication at the consultation and adapts the Basti, Nasya, Shirodhara and massage therapies, the diet and the pace of the day; the programme is not a substitute for medical or mental health treatment, so continue the care your doctor has prescribed. Your vitals are monitored through the stay.
Can my Holistic Healing retreat be personalised?
Yes, the programme is personal by design. The Basti combinations of snehabasti and tiktaksheera basti are set by our Vaidya for oleation, and the Katibasti or Manyaabasti sessions are chosen according to your symptoms, so two guests on the same 7-night stay can have different schedules. Tell us your food preferences and allergies when you book and Sattva Restaurant plans your three daily farm-to-fork meals around them, with herbal detox elixirs and supplements as the physician recommends. Nature walks, fishing, boating and canvas painting are optional.
How do the 3, 7 and 14-night stays differ?
The therapy list is the same; sessions rise with the stay. The 3-night stay has nine sessions: three Basti treatments with front and back whole-body massage, two Nasya, one Janubasti, one Katibasti or Manyaabasti, one Shirodhara and one Dhoopana. The 7-night stay has sixteen: five Basti, four Nasya, two Janubasti, two Katibasti or Manyaabasti, one Shirodhara, one Dhoopana and a Lord Dhanwantari Pooja. The 14-night stay has twenty-four: seven Basti, five Nasya, three Janubasti, three Katibasti or Manyaabasti, three Shirodhara, two Dhoopana and the Pooja.
